This is the world we know, the only world most of us have ever known. In the summer evenings, you can occasionally hear the cries of griffons on the breeze. In the early morning, before daybreak, if you're lucky you can find pixies harvesting flowers for planting next spring. If you're a little less lucky you may find goblins harvesting pixies for supper.

In our world things exist in everyday life that many people have only ever read about in children's tales or heard in ghost stories. Elves are here, as are dragons. In your world people believe elves to be joyous little creatures, helping people in need when they are not looking. In reality elves are a proud race, with warrior blood within them, and they are likely to do whatever you expect them not to. A dragon may prove to be more of an aid than a threat. In our world the unexpected is always expected. Things that seem ugly can hold the greatest beauty of all, and a rose can be your death. Danger is often around any given corner, being in the form of a poison offered in a cup of wine, to an entire Orcan army. Be careful... the person sitting beside you could be a doppleganger.

While searching for romance and glory you can often stumble upon a crime, or a mystery. Often this a beginning for an adventure of the like you have never heard. For in our world there is always someone willing to retaliate. The people of our world are full of wanderlust and the thirst for action. They will meet the danger head on (though there may be a fee to pay - nothing is free here either), and return with tales of the like storybooks are made. Here, however, they can often be eclipsed by next weeks tales.

Swordbelts are common clothing and boots are worn out fast. Many of our people don't have a place to call home, whether it be something in their past or the most heard reason, "I want to explore what's out there." For every good there is an evil. The dead don't always rest easy here and walking through a graveyard is not an option.

You can find entire countries dominated by the black arts, and every one of them has a plan to rule supreme. Trees can eat you or a succubus can drain you to a paralyzed shell, if you let them catch you. This is the thrill after all of living here.
